Since 1970, when the Trust was first created, the Bricklayers and Masons Welfare Plan has been building a strong foundation of health and financial security for Plan Members and their families. Today, the Trust is governed by four Union-appointed Trustees and four Masonry Contractor Association-appointed Trustees. **Effective September 1, 2026, the EAP Program is now provided by GreenShield**
Your EAP is a confidential, voluntary support program designed to help you and your eligible family members manage life’s challenges—anytime, anywhere. Through GreenShield+, you have access to professional support from a diverse network of qualified care providers. This program offers short-term counselling, guidance, and practical resources to support your overall mental, emotional, and everyday well-being.
NEW: With EAP through GreenShield, your EAP sessions are provided without any cost to you. Once you have reached the maximum number of sessions available to you under EAP, your sessions can continue with your counsellor you have been seeing, and the cost can automatically be moved from EAP and applied toward your paramedical practitioner coverage under Extended Health. Services for paramedical practitioners (massage therapist, speech therapist, acupuncturist, psychologist, clinical counsellor, social worker, registered therapeutic counsellor, podiatrist, chiropractor, naturopath, physiotherapist) are covered under EHB at 100% up to a calendar year maximum of $1,000 per insured person for all paramedical practitioner types combined. If, at the end of the year you still require continued counselling, this coverage will revert back to the EAP in the new year, for continuous coverage.
